Gee, in B&W, that first shot almost looks more like the surface of another planet rather than the ocean bottom! Is that shot actually taken underwater, looking down through the water or at the surface at low tide? I’m thinking now it can’t actually be low tide because of the “floaty” stuff in the background. So how’d you do it?
Ahhh…it’s a trick of depth of field. There was no water used in this image at all. Just a shell on the beach with very shallow depth of field. I only used aperture and nik software to process this, so the selective focus was done all in camera.
That’s not a shell, that’s a spaceship crash landed on a barren planet in a far of galaxy. 🙂
Nice use of DoF and processing there. I like the guy on the beach. Looks like he’s thinking about going in for a dip or enjoy the warmth of the sun. Tough choice.

Glad you liked it.
I really love that shell shot Shrew! (Say that three times fast!) 🙂
LOVE the shell shot. The B&W works very nicely.

Shrew shoots sea shells by the sea shore and shows us how it is done!! Fab!
