Guest Shutter – BRC – Beauty and the instructor

Our BRC sent this image in as part of the workplace challenge, but I felt her daughter deserved a special post. It is a stunner showing the trust between pupil (BRC’s levely seven year old) and instructor. I hope you don’t mind BRC, but I converted it to B&W.

  1. Beautiful!! The water is almost making concentric circles around the girls, bringing all the attention to the subject at hand. And shrew, I do like the black & white here. Nice collaboration!

  2. This was at her swimming lesson a few weeks ago. It’s funny I never even thought about converting it, but it is WAY better in b&w… good call Shrew. A good example of what your art director friend said about b&w needing a lot of contrast.

  3. What I love about this is the gentle expression on the instructor’s face and the intense concentration on Mini-BRC that is communicated despite being a high contrast shot.
